A Studio Born From Passion
Lorena Eni is a visionary floral designer who founded her Contemporary Floral Design and Styling Studio in New York in 2018. Her work goes far beyond traditional bouquets — she creates marvelous floral compositions for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and art installations. Every arrangement is a statement piece.
When Lorena came to Omnycode, she had wanted to build a website that would feel as unique, creative, and refined as her art. Not just an online shop, and not just a portfolio — but both, woven together in a way that reflected her contemporary aesthetic. We received one clear instruction: make it look nothing like a typical online store.
Challenge accepted.
The Brief That Made Our Designer Excited
Here’s what we were working with:
- A brand identity built on asymmetry and softness
- A need for a portfolio-meets-store experience
- High-definition photography that absolutely could not be compressed
- Fresh flower delivery logistics that had to be smart and reliable
Shopify, by nature, loves a good grid. Clean rows, predictable columns, consistent spacing. Lorena’s world is the opposite of that — and we loved her for it.

Timeline: 2.5 months
Platform: Shopify (Dawn theme)

Designing Against the Rules

We started from a blank canvas — literally. A fully custom design concept, built to reflect Lorena’s aesthetic: organic, asymmetric, contemporary. Layouts that felt curated rather than templated.
The problem? Shopify doesn’t natively do “curated.” It does structured. It does grids. It does containers.
So we built around it.
We chose the Dawn theme as our foundation — Shopify’s most customization-friendly free theme — and then rebuilt the front end logic from scratch.
The secret weapon? A metafield-based structure that powers every asymmetric gallery, every off-grid section, every editorial image layout on the site.
We also built dedicated portfolio and work landing pages that sit somewhere between a creative agency’s showcase and a product catalogue. Because that’s exactly how Lorena’s clients browse: they fall in love with the work first, then they buy.
The Details that Enhanced Customer Journey
A custom Gift Message field lets customers add a personal note to their order. Because flowers say something. The words that come with them say even more.
ZIP Code Checker — Customers confirm their address is within a delivery zone before they even get to checkout.
Delivery Date Calendar — An intuitive date picker shows real availability, driven by actual operational logic and easily manageable on the backend.
Product add-ons — vases and ribbons — available directly on select product pages. A small touch that makes ordering feel thoughtful, and quietly lifts the average order value.
Fast. Beautiful. Both.
A visually heavy website and a fast website are not supposed to coexist. We made them coexist.
Through careful image optimization, lazy loading, and lean custom code, lorenaeniflowers.com loads quickly across all devices — without sacrificing a single pixel of that editorial-quality photography.
Because a slow website is the one thing worse than a blank canvas.
The Result
In 2.5 months, Lorena Eni Flowers received a website that actually matches the brand it represents:
- A fully custom Shopify store that looks and behaves like no other florist on the internet
- Asymmetric, editorial layouts that stay manageable through a flexible metafield system
- A smart delivery experience that protects the product and the customer relationship
- Optimized performance that handles image-heavy pages without breaking a sweat
