E-Commerce Store Migration Services

Seamless transitions between platforms with no downtime to your business

E-commerce store migration is never simple. Whether you’re moving from Magento to BigCommerce, WooCommerce to Shopify, or upgrading from an outdated SaaS platform, the challenges can feel overwhelming – especially if your store has a large catalog and years of historical data.

Omnycode team has successfully migrated dozens of stores between platforms over the past 8+ years. We understand the risks, bottlenecks, and steps required to ensure your new store is stable, optimized, and ready to grow.

Why Store Migration Is So Challenging

Many merchants hesitate to migrate, and for good reason. Here are some of the most common pain points we solve:

SEO performance drops

Careful sitemap mapping is one of the key elements of the store migration. Even with perfect link mapping, a temporary SEO dip is common. Google needs time to crawl your new sitemap and structure. We prepare carefully to minimize this dip and restore your rankings as quickly as possible.

Complex product and historical data migration

Data migration can quickly become disorganized if not properly planned, as each e-commerce platform handles data differently. For example, Shopify utilizes meta fields, BigCommerce uses custom fields, and Magento depends on product attributes; all have distinct limitations. Similarly, orders, customers, and accounts are structured uniquely across platforms.

Adapting to a new platform

Learning a new system and getting used to a different admin panel, logic, and interface seems hard and time-consuming. That’s why we will organize knowledge-sharing sessions with your team and demonstrate each step of the new platform management.

Omnycode’s Migration Process

Stage 1: Discovery & Planning

Through 3-5 discovery sessions, we analyze your historical data, tools, integrations, and business model. We recommend the platform that suits your needs the most.

We prepare a detailed roadmap based on your product volume, data complexity, and third-party integrations (ERP, OMS, PIM, etc.).

Stage 2: Building the New Store

We design and develop a store on the new platform, preserving critical features and adding improvements where needed.

We connect your inventory, accounting, and management systems – or build custom solutions for your unique workflows.

Stage 3: Data Migration

We transfer products, orders, customers, blog content, and pages. Depending on the project, catalog size, and requirements, we either use trustworthy, ready-made migration tools or write our own connectors for large complex data flows.

Every URL is mapped to the new sitemap. Where a 1:1 link structure isn’t possible, we set up precise redirects to protect your SEO authority.

Stage 4: QA & Training

Our QA team validates data accuracy, site performance, and customer flows. We run knowledge-sharing sessions with your team on product management, order handling, and platform features.

Stage 5: Domain Transfer & Release

We manage DNS records, SSL setup, and domain transfer. After launch, we monitor performance for 2–3 weeks, making sure the new website meets your customers’ and your team’s expectations.

Case Study: Kellyco Migration

Kellyco migration screens

One of our most complex projects was migrating Kellyco Metal Detectors from Magento 1 to BigCommerce. With 350,000+ orders in historical data, thousands of products, and a complex B2B/B2C setup, this was no ordinary migration.

Over 5.5 months, we:

  • Transferred the entire customer base, order history, and blog content
  • Preserved Kellyco’s business architecture with improved ERP, inventory, and accounting integrations
  • Added custom features they had been planning for years
